was stationed south of kontum. we were usaf ground control for the b 52s and anyother aircraft needing target support. as i recall most "combat" troops had been stood down, camp eagle, pleiku airport and the city of pleiku evacuated, what a memory of people hanging off hueys as we tried to hold back the throngs waiting. we were on our own in an old french compound. every day was a combat learning curve. thanks to the berets,roks,rangers,"snake eaters", regulars and puffs and other gunships that helped and supported us. enough for now
