Cambodia Clash Kills 7

PHNOM PENH (AP) --Two Cambodians were killed and another 11 wounded during a battle one mile north of Srang Cam, a favorite staging ground for the North Vietnamese 1st Div. and the scene of repeated battles.

The Cambodian high command said the Communists abandoned five dead.

There were no reports of any significant change in the situation on Highway 1 in southeastern Cambodia and at Prey Veng and Svay Rieng, two southeastern provincial capitals which have been under siege for the past week.

Military sources, however, said the Cambodians suffered heavy losses on the highway in earlier battles.

The high command said that at Spean Tram, on the outskirts of the Svay Rieng position, 599 defenders held out against heavy odds for seven days before it fell April 24.
