Joel, I appreciate your comments on my web site and your interest in the Battle of Kontum. I built the site for all who served and to honor those who fought and died for what they believed in. I am pleased that you have taken an historical perspective to the issue of America and the use of combat power in a world often torn by violence on an enormous scale. I am very aware of the sacrifices made in the Vietnam War I have lost many friends and I have had Vietnamese refugees live in my home for years. I have sons who have served in the military and one who is still serving so I know what sacrifices may be made. If you have an interest, you might want to read my paper located here on the web site Combat Power: An Ontological Approach it is located near the bottom of the index on the Home Page. The Bibliography provides an excellent selection of books and papers that deal with the use of force and, if you read them, as I have, you may get some answers to your questions and a different insight on our use of force and our involvement with the rest of the world.
