ATC at Kontum early April until leaving Viet Nam Oct. 8th 72 - 344th ADD. After leaving we went back in living in Radar Bunker, Conex & A/C revetment. Remember controlling when Cobra took hit and told Pilot to get out he was on fire. Luckily it was pointed down the runway as rocket pods cooked off and not the tower. As far as I know he was okay. Upon landing all aircraft were instructed not to shut down because of rocket attacks intensifying or resuming. All C130s and similar aircraft were instructed to make running off loads if at all possible and keep moving. I remember a CH-47 on down wind trying to land who had to drop sling load in city because of intense fire. Many times there would only be 2 or 3 of us there on the airfield. Controlled on top of radar bunker in day and radar in bunker at night
