John Paul Vann
I was the crew chief of the OH-58 tail number 938 that John Vann was killed in , i was sent back to the states shortly after his death. When i arrived at the 201st i was given this AC which had been relived of several main components and told it was mine when i got it put back together ,i said ok i have never touched a OH-58 before . they brought in a Bell tech he and gave some of us a 40 hr cousre on it. I had previously served with Atrp 3/17th Air Cav and a unit on Marble Mountain.
