Upon entering La Salle as a freshman or sophomore most classmates (unless your brother also went there) received an unwanted surprise. Yes, the biweekly report card -- every two weeks come fall, winter, or spring. Grades on the biweekly played an important part of your quarterly grade as these biweekly grades were 40 percent of your quarterly grade. End of quarter testing (worth 60 percent) completed your grade for the quarter. In some cases, this made getting an A for the quarter impossible. Memory has it that failing grades on the biweekly were shown in RED to be more visible to the parent who signed your card.
