Talking About La Salle Discussion Board
La Salle luncheon September 24, 2024

Seventeen members of the La Salle Academy Class of 1961 gathered
at Emmily’s Restaurant in Johnston, RI on September 24, 2024. What
brings these classmates together? Perhaps a chance to reminisce about
life 63 years ago on Academy Ave, but also an opportunity to see how
we are all doing in the later stages of life. For many of us, life is about
adapting to multiple challenges, our own limitations, caring for an ailing
spouse, dealing with so many losses. We learn from each other how to
make the most out of late life. We share the joys of family and friends,
and God’s gift of grandchildren. For many of us, our Faith, nourished by
the efforts of the Christian Brothers, remains a source of strength, a
moral compass. We are all grateful that we can still enjoy the company
of special friends and classmates of six decades. We look forward to
meeting again in the Spring of 2025.
