Hits Pulitzer Prize Awards

WASHINGTON (UPI) --Patrick J. Buchanan, special assistant to President Nixon, said Thursday it was atrocious and appalling that Jack Anderson and the New York Times were awarded Pulitzer Prizes for disclosing secret government documents.

Buchanan, who writes speeches for the President and prepares news summaries for him, said the prizes to Anderson, who disclosed policy making in the India-Pakistan war, and The Times, which published the Pentagon Papers, were bad lessons for young journalists.
