IR Suppression Kits began arriving within several months of the first SA-7 Strela attacks. By summer of '72 LOH's, AH-1Gs and UH-1H's were modified. The suppression kits diverted the engine exhaust into the rotor system, and greatly decreasing the helicopter's IR signature.
