Hi Jack,
Thank you for the email (and the one that you sent earlier). I get to look at hundreds of Vietnam sites during the course of my own on-going research and yours is absolutely 'Numbah 1'.
Again, excellent work. It is a pleasure to know that there are people out there, like yourself, who are as determined as myself in making sure that the sacrifices were not in vain and that the public is made to realize that the US soldier in Vietnam performed as well as any others in US history. I take my hat off to you.
Take care.
Regards
REFLECTIONS: This e-mail, and there were several from this writer, was very meaningful to me. The writer expressed my feelings exactly and spoke to what motivated me to do this web site- "...to know that there are people out there, like yourself, who are as determined as myself in making sure that the sacrifices were not in vain...". Many people have asked me how much it has cost me to build and maintain The Battle of Kontum web site. My answer is that it is my gift to those who served and who are unable to tell their own story. My Webmaster, George S. Williams, has been very generous with me and has given much of his own time on this project. The cost of telling the "story" in the way that we have does not come close to the cost of not telling the "story". To whom much has been given, much is expected. Your gift to me is sharing the story with others so that they will know and remember - freedom is not free and many have given all they had so that our children would know the gift of freedom.
