Robert Joseph Remillard
Obituary

Robert Joseph Remillard, 79, Exchanged his Goldwing motorcycle for wings of gold on October 20, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s. Bob was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 31, 1943. He is preceded in death by his father; Oscar, mother; Eva (Dandeneau), sisters; Florence (Lanoue) and Rita (Conde). Robert is survived by son; Richard Remillard (Charona), daughter, Jane Clifford (Mark), grandchildren; Kayla Wiseman (Jerrod), Jennifer Mynhier (Charlie), Joe Remillard, and Emily Clifford. The most recent addition to the family: great grand-daughter Ellaina Wiseman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Remillard was a 1961 graduate of La Salle Academy (Providence, RI) and a retiree from BE Aerospace (Winston Salem, NC). Bob was an avid motorcyclist and life member of B2- Goldwing Road Riders Association. He worked tirelessly to promote safe motorcycling and organized many charitable events for orphaned and under privileged children and adults. His selfless efforts benefited countless people in many areas of the country. Mr. Remillard was also a proud member of the local Thunderbird Club in Winston Salem. He was involved with the Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department of West Virginia’s fund-raising event. The “Mother of all Raffles” as he called it, provided much needed equipment for the firefighters there. He prided himself on being one of the top raffle ticket sellers for this annual event, as well as often having sold a winning ticket! When he was not raising awareness or fundraising Robert enjoyed traveling around the country to celebrate holidays and milestone events with family and friends. He would visit Johnsons Pond in Rhode Island on the Fourth of July at his sister’s summer home for a chance to visit his favorite nieces and nephews. Thanksgiving was often spent in Connecticut and Christmas would have traveled to Ohio or Virginia Beach to share the festivities with his three granddaughters. He would also make time to participate in life events such as watching his only grandson blow out the candles on his birthday cake. More times than not these treks were made by him sitting atop one of his Honda Goldwings. Bob will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, charming pearly white smile, and generous character. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
