Dallas Nihsen, Door Gunner, KIA. Died 4/15/72 the result of enemy gunfire during an extraction on board a UH-1 piloted by Maj Jim Gibbs, CO, and myself. Don't know his DEROS.
Gerald Spradlin, KIA, W01, OH-6 Pilot. Died 05/29/72. OH-6 crash the result of enemy gunfire during search mission. Don't know his DEROS. I believe his observer was also KIA, not certain, don't know the name.
WO1 Gerald Douglas Spradlin - Killed In Action from an incident on 05/29/1972 while performing the duty of Pilot. Age at death: 19.7

Wayne Finch, KIA, CPT, OH-6 Pilot. Died 9/16/72 result of previous OH-6 crash and subsequent march north to captivity. Died enroute. Observer was Blackwood, survived and recovered at crash site.
SFC Britt, KIA. Blues Team. Not certain of death date. Died attempting to recover Wayne Finch shortly after crash date. Although I am certain there was one death of a Blues Team member during the rescue attempt I am not certain it was SFC Britt.

By looking through award citation orders, I have the following names to add to the unit roster for B Trp 7/17th and H Trp 17th ACS. I cannot be sure about whether some of these persons were in both units because some DEROSED and some were medivaced before the change in unit designation. Also, there was about a 2 week period when the unit was MR II Cav TRP (Provisional) between being B Trp 7/17th and H Trp 17 ACS.

This is a list of H Troop personnel identified by the group present at the mini-reunion. The H Troop group included: Jim Stein, Richard "Red" Getchel, Larry Brassell, Richard Pennybaker and Bart Burns. Also present was William Page, Jack Heslin and Dennis Watson. In some cases the full names were not available. Some of these names were taken from copies of award orders provided by Jim Stein and others.

NOTES -- ADDITIONS AND CORRECTIONS: I would like to present my name, Richard A. Wilson, for addition to your enlisted roster. During the battle of Kontum I was a PFC and door gunner for Lt. Elliott (most of the time) and Sp4 Kiefer was crew chief. I also flew gunner on the "Chuck Chuck" aircraft with the two Majors to include the time we attempted to land at the refuel point at the old FOB camp south of Kontum and took incoming narrowly escaping the second round. I was assigned to the unit on 29 January 1972 until 1973 and was present when our mailing address changed from B Troop 7/17th and H Troop 17th ACS. I would like to add my name, Gary Taylor, to the roster of H Troop 17 ACR. I was assigned as a lift pilot in December of 1971 and left the unit in August 1972. I was shot down west of Dok To 2 in April. Hi, my name is John Perrin and I just spoke to you today about a mission with B Troop 7/17 Cav, I was a radio operator. I would like to be placed in the unit roster for that unit. I do not know when I first got to B Troop, but it must have been in the first of April, and I left to go back to the states on the 30th of April. Thanks John Perrin.
