To add to the previous comment, Paul Vann did not believe when the Rangers border patrol reported to ARVN commanders that communist T-54 tanks are moving toward the city at night and they can see their headlights beaming. Paul simply said they must be PT-76 light armor transport vehicle. he will only believe it when he sees them and it was almost too late and too costly for the local troops.
